The best time to visit the Palace of Versailles

High season: Early April to late June and early October to early November.
The weather during these months is mild, which lets you enjoy the outdoors – walking, activities, and exploring the city of Versailles. Although the crowd during these months is relatively larger, which means longer queues and wait time.
Low season: Early November through late March. These months are perfect if you wish to experience and enjoy the city of Versailles without the maddening crowds that it attracts.
Time of the day: Keep in mind that most people visiting Versailles are traveling from Paris. To avoid this crowd, plan to visit the palace immediately after it opens or a couple of hours before it closes.
